Uniting schools to their local communities
Introducing the Legacy Schools Program - Youth led action creating projects based on issues they want to change. Taking the projects off the paper and into the community.
Our aim is to inspire youth to make change happen in the world. This is done by uniting already existing networks and communities from schools and youth organisations, and going beyond what is considered possible. In order to deliver this program efficiently we can create a flexible and bespoke program that fits around the needs of the group of students we are working with.
The modules we deliver will include; Empowering for Employability working on skills for life and changing perception to become more confident, accountable and action oriented. Finding passion and purpose allowing each participant to focus on what is important to them and creating a Legacy, turning words into action.
In order to ensure success of the program we provide coaching and mentoring to help project groups move forward and to identify opportunities to strengthen approach and expand on delivery.
Students are also given the option to present their projects in a Dragons Den style workshop at the end of the program. This enables us to bring in local employers and business leaders so that the young people can showcase the projects and demonstrate their passion, enthusiasm, skillset and commitment to change. These employers and business leaders would then have an opportunity to form relationships with future talent and support the projects they are involved in which in turn supports the local community.
Successful projects can then be nominated for our Global Youth Awards under the Legacy category.
